🏆 Rotherham Anti-Bullying Awards 2019: Change Starts with us - Celebrating School Excellence On Thursday 14th November 2019, over 200 children and young people from 39 Rotherham schools gathered at Wales High School to celebrate their achievements in anti-bullying excellence. The school—proud holders of the Gold Award—hosted a joyful ceremony recognising Bronze, Silver, and Gold level recipients of the Rotherham Anti-Bullying Award. 🤝 A Powerful Partnership For over five years, The Anti-Bullying Company has worked hand-in-hand with Rotherham Schools Improvement Service (RoSIS), delivering impactful training, education, and support to schools committed to creating safer and kinder environments. As part of this journey, schools are encouraged to apply for different award levels, showcasing their ongoing work to prevent and address bullying. 🌟 Sharing Good Practice Gold Award-winning schools took the spotlight, sharing outstanding anti-bullying strategies and approaches: •Wales High School introduced their Mental Health Ambassadors, trained students who promote wellbeing and resilience among their peers. •Rotherham College Performing Arts students staged an emotive, interactive drama aligned with the theme "Change Starts With Us." Attendees shaped the narrative by offering suggestions on how to respond to bullying scenarios—then watched their ideas come to life. 🐝 Bee the Change Students took part in a collaborative art activity, creating pledge honeybees to “bee the change.” These powerful promises were assembled into a display now featured at the RoSIS office—buzzing with messages of kindness and courage. 🪑 Kindness in Action Earlier in the week, Governors at Anston Park Junior School gifted pupils with a Buddy Bench, sparking friendships and supporting children in building inclusive connections during playtime. ________________________________________ "I was absolutely thrilled to see the increase in Rotherham schools successfully accredited for The Rotherham Anti-Bullying Award. This year we had 39 school awards to present, up from 22 the previous year. Our continued partnership with Rotherham Schools Improvement Service has seen many more schools accessing our provision who are proud to share their good anti-bullying practice. We have already started to make exciting plans for next year’s awards ceremony and hope to see even more schools and young people celebrating their successes and achievements." – Ann, Lead Anti-Bullying Consultant, The Anti-Bullying Company

The theme: Change Starts With Us -Small change. Big difference.
Whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well in to adulthood. By making small, simple changes, we can break this cycle and create a safe environment for everyone. Because together, we can challenge bullying. Change starts with a conversation. It starts with checking in. It starts with work together.
Change starts here.
Change starts now.
Change starts with us.
